Usability evaluation

Usability evaluation, also called as heuristic evaluation, is a usability review by usability specialists. Usability professionals evaluate designs by going through each step of the interface. The experts base their judgement on the guidelines of good usability and on their experience. It is a fast and cost-effective way to identify potential usability problems in the user interface.

Heuristic evaluations should be conducted at several phases of the development cycle - to benchmark at the beginning, keep on the right track during design phases as well as to validate designs when they are nearly finished.

Benchmark evaluation is most effective if done simultaneously with competitor products to see how your own offerings compare. Its goal is also to gather information for usability goal setting and for a comparison with a later revised design.

As a result we prove written report on the identified problems, the reasons why they are there, and instructions for fixing these problems.
