What was the starting point and objective of the project?
The starting point was that we had no guidelines for the maintenance and development of the current Veikkaus.fi web service . The product conducted with Etnoteam was needed to get these kinds of guidelines into use.
We wanted to improve the user interface, usability and customer experience of interaction on the Veikkaus website, and to manage maintenance and development of the design based on consistent guidelines. We asked Etnoteam to provide us with improvement recommendations and digital format guidelines.
What was the outcome of the project?
The concrete end product was a set of complex, high-quality guidelines in a digital format, with all the linkages and work files required.
According to the current webmaster, Henrik Bäcklund - who at the time had not yet been employed by Veikkaus - the style guide is used e.g. for checking correct typography. He has also praised the guidelines and the quality of their technical realisation.
Veikkaus Oy is a Finnish lottery company that has already been in existence for 70 years. The company is one of Finland’s most profitable companies. Veikkaus provides high-quality gaming entertainment – lotteries, sports betting, scratch cards – and generates EUR 9 million each week to support Finnish arts, sports, science and youth work.
Etnoteam created user interface guidelines for the Veikkaus website. At the start of the project, the Etnoteam consultants familiarised themselves with the website, clarified the customer’s objectives and interviewed the site developers in order to define user requirements. Etnoteam produced the structure of the website and templates in digital form for the creation of new page. At the end of the project, Etnoteam demonstrated to Veikkaus how to use the templates.
